Set OverDrive Media Console Preferences
To access the OverDrive Media Console Preferences, click OverDrive Media Console > Preferences. The 'Preferences' dialog box lists options that allow you to customize OverDrive Media Console:
- 'Automatic updates' sets OverDrive Media Console to automatically check for software updates and messages. Automatic updates are enabled by default; it is strongly recommended that you leave both these options checked to ensure you are notified of any updates and news regarding OverDrive Media Console.
- The default location to which OverDrive Media files will be saved is displayed. You can override the default download folder by selecting the current file path and clicking the 'Change...' button. A dialog box is displayed. Browse to and select the desired folder, then click 'OK' to close the dialog box.
- By default, when you play a title in OverDrive Media Console, the OverDrive Media Explorer window opens and the title is played from the beginning (i.e., at the earliest point in the earliest part you have downloaded). Under heading 'Media Explorer auto-play options', you can change this default behavior to one of the following:
-
'Automatically resume from furthest played point' sets OverDrive Media Explorer to automatically begin play at the furthest point to which you have played the title.
- 'Disable auto-play' turns off the auto-play feature. When you launch a title in the OverDrive Media Explorer window, the title will not play until you click the 'Play' button.
To restore the default behavior, select 'Automatically play from the beginning' to set OverDrive Media Explorer to automatically play titles from the beginning.
